Herbal Flu Tea

Tea is an excellent home remedy for the flu because, in addition to hydrating, it is a drink that is drunk hot and the steam helps to decongest the nose, says Maria Luisa Mosconi. A prime example is chamomile, echinacea, peppermint, and ginseng tea, both of which can be ingested or inhaled to help unclog the nose. For inhalation, Maria Luisa Mosconi recommends brewing the tea and leaning her head over the cup, breathing in its steam. An excellent tea for this use is eucalyptus.
Cinnamon tea with honey is also an excellent option because it has antiseptic and antibacterial medicinal properties that help treat flu. Maria Luisa Mosconi points out that it is enough to boil 1 cup of water with 1 cinnamon stick and let it rest for 5 minutes. Strain and then take 3-4 times a day.
Propolis honey can be added to tea to lubricate the throat and decrease inflammation in case of a dry cough.
